Malliotakis has been a cosponsor of the Major Richard Star Act since the day it was introduced. When a petition to force a House vote sat one signature short for nearly two weeks, she didn't sign it. Her reason: a Republican package she also cosponsored, which pays for the Star Act by cutting disability ratings for tinnitus and sleep apnea.

Lawler's congressional campaign has paid Checkmate Strategies $502,538 since 2022. He didn't sign a deal to sell his half of the firm until 2025, and his newest disclosure shows he is still owed $100,001 to $250,000 on that sale — paid, the firm's head says, out of his own pocket — while the campaign's monthly fee to the firm went up.

On September 16 the House passed the PROOF Act, 217-207. It orders states to turn over whatever Medicaid, SNAP and other benefit records Attorney General Todd Blanche asks for in writing, with no judge involved. A federal court had already blocked the Trump administration from cutting food stamp funding to states that refused to hand over recipient data. 185 of the members who voted yes have report cards on this site.

The same day, the Congressional Budget Office put the war's direct cost at $38.1 billion and said it will push inflation higher into 2027.
