On April 16 a war powers resolution failed 213-214. On May 14 the next one deadlocked 212-212, and a tie fails. Either one needed exactly one Republican to switch. Only Thomas Massie, who has no page here, voted yes both times.

Earlier: Jeff Hurd declined televised debate invitations and agreed to one 30-minute session before a friendly audience instead. John McGuire says he'll debate when his opponent apologizes for raising a BlackRock sale the disclosure records in his wife's retirement account. At a September 17 campaign stop, Tom Tiffany told supporters the U.S. Department of Justice is 'coming to Wisconsin for this election.' His campaign couldn't point to anything specific to Wisconsin, as the Trump administration talks about putting ICE and FBI agents near polling places.
Asked whether America is ready for a gay president, Rep. Derrick Van Orden told TMZ that 'African Americans don't want to vote for a homosexual.' Polling shows most Black voters say a candidate's sexual orientation makes no difference.
H.R. 10377 would drop every noncitizen from the count used to hand out House seats, force a new apportionment before the 2028 election, and put a citizenship question on every future census. The Fourteenth Amendment — which Clyde's filing cites as its authority — says to count 'the whole number of persons in each State.'
In four states, in three days, four Republicans on this site said no to a debate or forum their opponent was ready to do. A Michigan Senate debate went on with an empty podium, South Dakota's public broadcaster aired its Senate debate without the senator, and a second Wisconsin governor's debate was canceled.
On September 16 the House passed the PROOF Act, 217-207. It orders states to turn over whatever Medicaid, SNAP and other benefit records Attorney General Todd Blanche asks for in writing, with no judge involved. A federal court had already blocked the Trump administration from cutting food stamp funding to states that refused to hand over recipient data. 185 of the members who voted yes have report cards on this site.
On September 15 the House voted 220-204 to end the war with Iran — the third time since June. Republicans voted 203 to 7 against it, and 180 of the members who voted no are on our report cards. The same day, the Congressional Budget Office put the war's direct cost at $38.1 billion and said it will push inflation higher into 2027.
