David Rouzer Carried the Bill Telling North Carolina Not to Believe the Ocean. Now He Represents the Coast.
In 2012 Rouzer carried the Senate version of the bill that stopped North Carolina's coastal agencies from setting a sea-level-rise rate for four years — 'there was consensus years and years and years ago that the earth was flat.' The state's own science panel now says the coast he represents should plan on a foot of rise by 2050.
