Stands With Trump's Agenda That Cut Health Care for Texans

We all deserve access to quality, affordable healthcare so we can live healthy and productive lives. But Carlos De La Cruz built his campaign around being Trump's "wingman" — backing an agenda that stripped health coverage from millions of Americans, including hundreds of thousands of Texans.

De La Cruz has made being "Trump's wingman in Congress" the centerpiece of his platform. That agenda — driven by Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson — included the One Big Beautiful Bill, which the Congressional Budget Office estimates will leave 10 million more Americans uninsured by 2034 — 7.5 million of them through its cuts to Medicaid, and more than 14 million once the expiring Affordable Care Act tax credits are counted alongside it. More than 4.4 million Texans count on Medicaid for their health insurance, and KFF projects that same law will leave about 480,000 more Texans uninsured by 2034 — about 1.4 million once the expiring tax credits are counted alongside it.

A vote for Carlos De La Cruz is a vote to take health care away from Texans. We deserve better.

Backs Policies That Hurt Texas Seniors

Texas seniors worked their whole lives for the Medicare and Social Security they count on today. Carlos De La Cruz backs the agenda that put both at risk.

The Trump-Johnson agenda triggered nearly $500 billion in Medicare cuts unless Congress acts to stop them. More than 4.7 million Texans depend on Medicare for their health coverage.
Trump's DOGE brought longer wait times and website crashes and mass layoffs at Social Security offices, making it harder for Texas seniors to get the benefits they earned. Closer to home, San Antonio businesses and nonprofits lost an estimated $375 million in federal contracts to DOGE cuts, and Texas lost at least five Veterans' Affairs contracts.

Carlos De La Cruz is on the wrong side of Texas seniors. We deserve better.

Backs the Largest SNAP Cuts in History

No family should have to skip meals to make ends meet. Yet Carlos De La Cruz backs the agenda that made the largest cut to food assistance in history — even as 3.47 million Texans rely on SNAP to put groceries on the table.

De La Cruz has built his campaign around backing President Trump's agenda. But Trump and Speaker Johnson were behind the single largest cut to SNAP in history — $187 billion slashed from food assistance. In Texas, about 3.47 million people — 11% of the state — received SNAP benefits every month in fiscal year 2025.

Carlos De La Cruz would take food off the table for thousands of families in his own district. We deserve better.

Backs an Agenda That Raises Prices on Texans

In America, a hard day's work should be enough to afford the basics. Instead, Trump's tariffs are slowing job growth and driving up prices across Texas — and Carlos De La Cruz has pledged to stand with the president behind them.

"Supporting President Trump" is one of the issues De La Cruz lists on his campaign platform. To protect the president's tariffs, Speaker Johnson moved to block any congressional pushback, using procedural maneuvers to keep House Republicans from challenging duties that were slowing job growth and raising prices for Texas businesses and the people they serve. The Tax Foundation put the tariffs at an average $1,000 tax increase per American household in 2025, and $840 in 2026.

Carlos De La Cruz would be one more vote for the tariffs making everyday life more expensive in Texas. We deserve better.

Touts Endorsements From Scandal-Ridden Congressmen

Carlos De La Cruz has proudly highlighted endorsements from controversial members of Congress. The colleagues he chooses to stand with say a lot about his judgment.

De La Cruz touted an endorsement from Rep. John McGuire, who was the lone vote in the Virginia Senate against raising the minimum marriage age to 18 — voting against a bill to ban child marriage.
De La Cruz touted an endorsement from Rep. Derrick Van Orden, who was known for his anger issues — screaming curse words inches from Senate pages' faces — and for bankrolling a January 6th rally trip with campaign cash.
De La Cruz touted an endorsement from Rep. Rich McCormick, who has called to repeal the Affordable Care Act, proposed to raise the Social Security retirement age, said kids who relied on free lunches at school should work at McDonald's, spread election denialism, and left his wife for Rep. Beth Van Duyne.
De La Cruz touted an endorsement from Rep. Ryan Zinke, who resigned in disgrace as Trump's Interior Secretary after violating government rules and facing ethics investigations.

Carlos De La Cruz chose to highlight endorsements from colleagues who opposed a child marriage ban, screamed at Senate pages, and resigned in disgrace. We deserve better.
