Louisiana's SNAP rolls fell by about 170,000 people — 21% — in the year after Trump signed his budget bill, one of the steepest drops in the country. Steve Scalise, Mike Johnson, Clay Higgins and Julia Letlow all voted for the law, in May and again in July 2025.
