Trump's Budget Bill Will Cost New Jersey Up to $3.7 Billion a Year in Medicaid Money. Chris Smith, Tom Kean Jr. and Jeff Van Drew Voted for It Twice.
New Jersey's health officials told lawmakers the budget bill's Medicaid changes could cost the state up to $3.7 billion a year and push up to 330,000 people off their health plans, with work requirements for 540,000 adults starting in January. All three New Jersey House Republicans voted for it.

Tom Kean Jr. cosponsored the ORPHAN Cures Act, which rode into Trump's budget bill and pushed back Medicare's power to negotiate prices on blockbuster cancer drugs. The Congressional Budget Office says it handed a multibillion-dollar windfall to drugmakers including Merck and Johnson & Johnson — two companies whose stock sits in Kean's own portfolio.
